Spa tradition in Třeboň spans more than a century and is closely connected to the local nature, especially the healing peat extracted from the surrounding marshes. The first public spa in Třeboň was established in 1883, and since then the town has become a sought-after center for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. The most famous spa facilities are Aurora Spa by Svět Pond and Bertiny Spa in the historic town center. These spas offer not only therapeutic treatments but also a wide range of wellness services, attracting both patients and visitors seeking relaxation.
Today, spa culture is one of the main pillars of Třeboň’s economy and cultural life. In 2025, Třeboň will once again celebrate the festive opening of the spa season on May 31. This traditional event will feature a rich accompanying program on Masaryk Square and within the spa complexes, including concerts, dance performances, markets, and special spa tours. Spa culture in Třeboň is therefore not just a historical chapter, but a living part of the town’s identity, attracting visitors from across the Czech Republic and abroad.
