Educational Trail Okolo Třeboně

The Okolo Třeboně educational trail is a fantastic way to discover the natural wealth, history, and pond-management tradition of this unique South Bohemian region. The trail forms a loop of approximately 39 kilometers, starting and ending in Třeboň, and passes through the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area. Along the way, 17 information panels guide visitors, presenting the local fauna, flora, landscape features, and pond management – from the establishment of ponds to notable figures such as Štěpánek Netolický and Jakub Krčín. The trail is therefore not just a recreational route but also a living classroom in nature.

The trail passes through peaceful forests, along pond dikes, and beside the Zlatá stoka canal – passing ponds such as Rožmberk, Svět, Opatovický, and Vítek. Thanks to its flat terrain, the trail is suitable not only for walkers but also for cyclists, families with children, and seniors. Along the way, visitors can stop at rest areas, picnic spots, or enjoy viewpoints overlooking the typical South Bohemian landscape. The Okolo Třeboň educational trail thus combines physical activity with learning and offers a unique experience for anyone wishing to explore the beauty of the Třeboň region at a relaxed pace.
